Portugal – Joaquim Martins Lampreia

Joaquim Martins Lampreia has worked for over 30 years in the communications sector, as a professor, researcher, consultant and author of various reference books. Born in 1948 in Moura (Portugal), divorced, father of two children (Joaquim Pedro and Filipe) he lives in Portugal (Lisbon), Belgium (Brussels) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and Pipa) and divides his time between these countries. Over the last three decades he has worked in various communications areas, including Advertising, Journalism and Public Relations.
He studied Communications and History and has various others qualifications, including Crisis Management, Business Administration and Marketing. He established the first Public Relations agency in Portugal (1976) and was founder and chairman of APECOM – Portuguese Association of Public Relations and Communications Consultancies. He is renowned at the European level as a specialist in crisis management and lobbying/public affairs, and has provided consultancy services and coordinated seminars in these fields in Portugal and abroad. He is accredited as a lobbyist at the European Parliament and is a member of SEAP – Society of European Affairs Professionals – (www.seap.eu.org) and EPACA – European Public Affairs Consultancies Association – (www.epaca.org) whose head offices are in Brussels. In the field of crisis management, he pertains to the international network of consultants of ECMP – European Crisis Management Partnership – (www.ecmp.net), constituted by experts from various European Union countries. He is currently a President of Omniconsul – Communications Consultants, (www.omniconsul.pt), leader company in Portugal in the Management of the Communication.
